About Dalian
Dalian is the second largest city in the Liaoning province and the most economically developed city in the region. The city is located in the southern tip of the Liaodong Peninsula, surrounded on three sides by water. The city is know for its clean air, scenic beaches,. and pleasant climate. Apart from being a popular tourist destination, Dalian is also one of the most heavily developed industrial areas of China.
Dalian has 21 general institutions of higher education (and another 8 privately-run colleges), 113 secondary vocational schools, 80 ordinary middle high schools and 1,072 schools for nine-year compulsory education. Two of the universities in Dalian are part of the 211 Project, Dalian University of Technology and Dalian Maritime University. Some other universities are Dalian Jiaotong University, Dalian University, Liaoning Normal University and Dongbei University of Finance and Technology.
